Hanni Autere is a violinist and singer who has worked for almost 30 years with several musical genres and art forms in different groups and solo in Europe, USA and China. In the last years Hanni has mainly played her own compositions which focuses on fiddle-singing. This special way of making music has gotten a lot of astonished reactions and her flexible and natural voice has touched many listeners. Hanni’s music has influences from many musical styles from different parts of Europe, as well as classical music or even pop and jazz. The lyrics are often based on traditional Finnish poetry.

 

Hanni is interested in many things that concern music making, such as performing, composing, teaching and research. She completed her Doctorate Degree at the Sibelius Academy Folk Music Department in 2011. Hanni has an understanding of a large variety of instruments and musical styles, which she uses in her work as a performer and a pedagog. In the field of pedagogy Hanni has a qualification for university lector as well as a mentor.
